Kitsune is the fastest pet in Ride A Pet at 1 billion base speed; Dragon is the best money pet at 300 million income. Since a pet's only job is how fast (and how profitably) it moves you, this page ranks every known pet by mounted speed first, then hatch difficulty. One rule cuts across the whole list: mutations multiply base speed, so a well-mutated pet from a lower tier can outrun a plain pet from a higher one.

Reading the Tiers
- C — Starter. Enough to leave spawn and tour nearby nests. Replace as fast as possible.
- B — Value. Reachable with effort; where most accounts should spend their sessions. The Horse/Wolf/Shark bracket funds everything after it.
- A — Reliable. Demanding but realistic. Ostrich through Cheetah is the bracket that opens deep egg routes — worth building a mutation plan around once owned.
- S / S+ — Endgame. The Unicorn-to-Kitsune ladder. The Phoenix's flight is a bigger practical upgrade than raw speed suggests: flying egg-hunting changes the game more than any stat.
Speed King vs Money King
Kitsune wins on speed (1B), Dragon wins on income (300M). The distinction matters for rebirth chaining: if your recovery is limited by movement, Kitsune-style speed is what you want; if it is limited by money, Dragon earns over three times Kitsune's base income. Many endgame players keep both and swap by goal.
How to Get Better Pets
Move outward. Eggs further from spawn hold stronger pools, and the only way to reach them is a faster mount. The Galaxy Egg is the notable free route: when it spawns in the world, racing over and grabbing it gives you a 1% shot at the Dragon without spending Robux. The paid route is buying Dragon Egg rolls directly (Crocodile 50%, Fox 30%, T-Rex 15%, Phoenix 4%, Dragon 1%) — you are paying for attempts, not buying the pet outright.

Do mutations count as separate pets?+
No — a mutation is a state applied to a pet you own, multiplying its base speed and income. The same pet can be re-rolled until you accept a result.
