Ride A Pet Mutations
How the weather-event mutation system works, every known multiplier, and which pets deserve your rolls.
Mutations multiply a pet's speed and income, and the only way to get them is weather events. Five mutations are known in the current build — Shocked (x2), Volted (x3), Rage (x4), Void (unconfirmed multiplier) and Eternal (x100, the strongest). When a weather event like a Shocked Storm rolls over the map, pets can come out of it mutated. Because the multiplier applies to the pet's base speed, the same mutation is worth far more on a fast pet than a slow one.

Community tables (Pro Game Guides, TechWiser, Sportskeeda, Fandom) agree on the x2/x3/x4/x100 ladder; the developer has not published an official multiplier sheet, so treat values as community-measured. The Void multiplier is currently unconfirmed.
New in the September 2026 update: Gold, Diamond and Rainbow mutations are being added, and the event page states they stack with weather traits — meaning a pet could carry both a weather mutation and one of the new mutations. Keep pets with good weather traits; the combinations are expected to produce the strongest pets yet. Exact multipliers for the new set: 待确认 (to be confirmed after update testing).

How to Get Mutations
- Wait for weather events. Storms roll over the map on a server-wide cycle; pets can come out mutated. Community practice is to keep your pets out (on your ranch/equipped) while a storm is active.
- The mutation applies to owned pets, not eggs — hatch a pet worth improving first.
- Multiple copies of the same pet are independent targets, so duplicates are mutation material, not clutter.
Roll Strategy: Multiply Your Fastest Pet
Mutating multiplies base speed rather than adding to it, so the maths always favours your fastest pet:
- Mutate your highest-speed pet, never your rarest one. A good roll on a fast mount beats a great roll on a slow legendary.
- Keep a duplicate of your best pet as the mutation target. A bad roll on your only ride leaves you slower than you started; a spare copy lets you gamble safely and swap only when the roll wins.
- Set a hard re-roll cap before you spend. There are no published odds, so rolling is a decision about opportunity cost: every roll is cash that did not go into a new egg. Cap rolls per pet, then move the budget to hatching.
- Raise base speed first, then mutate. A bigger base makes every future roll more valuable.
What Stacking Changes
There is no evidence of stacking multiple weather mutations on one pet — each pet has one current mutation state you can re-roll. The September update's Gold/Diamond/Rainbow set stacking with weather traits is the confirmed exception, and it is the main reason to preserve pets carrying rare weather mutations until the update's numbers are tested.
How do I mutate a pet in Ride A Pet?+
Mutations come from weather events that roll over the map — keep your pets out during a storm. There is no purchase menu for mutations; the weather decides when a roll happens.
What is the best mutation?+
Eternal, at x100 — it multiplies speed, money and selling price by 100. It is also the rarest outcome, so treat it as a bonus rather than a plan.
Do mutation chances have published odds?+
No. The developer has not published roll weights, so no one can quote exact chances. Every claimed percentage is community guesswork.
Can mutations stack?+
Weather mutations do not stack on one pet — a pet has one mutation state you can re-roll. The September 2026 Gold/Diamond/Rainbow mutations are the confirmed exception: they stack with weather traits.
